The first-person shooter saga par excellence continues to wage war, never better said, in the field of E-Sports with its most recent installment: Call of Duty: Vanguard .

Released worldwide on November 5, 2021 for all existing platforms except Nintendo, this eighteenth installment returns to the historical origins of the franchise, setting the action back in World War II.

With a single-player campaign, and the famous Zombies mode, Call of Duty: Vanguard leaves no one indifferent with a dynamic narrative that prioritizes immersion and atmosphere for the player, creating an empathetic bond of serious intensity that will allow you to experience the adrenaline and life and death situations suffered by the Allies in their fight against the fascist axis.

However, as with everything else Call of Dutyand even more so now with E-Sports, the attention of each of the releases is focused, above all, on the multiplayer field, where we can find the most important tournaments in the worldThe game is played by people dedicated exclusively to this game, thanks to sponsors and sponsorships amounting to millions of dollars and, surprising as it may seem to many, an audience numbering in the thousands and thousands of people worldwide.

Call of Duty: Vanguard presents a multiplayer of a certain complexity, although it does not innovate too much in this category. With 20 default maps, 16 as part of the standard game and 4 new scenarios for the mode introduced in this release: “Champion Hill”. This mode results in last man standing by teams without any complex features.

Another innovation present in this title is the new feature in the field of multiplayer matchmaking. This mode, called “Combat Pacing”, allows players to have more blatant control when matched in multiplayer by choosing three game filters: tactical, assault and blitz. In addition, there is the option to mix them randomly in the main menu.

The tactical rhythm is based on the traditional experience of the Call of Duty saga: 6v6 to the death. On the other hand, assault raises the numbers to 10v10 or 12v12, balancing the combat. Finally, blitz faces 24v24 on maps and high-intensity battles similar to professional tournaments.

The Call of Duty 2022 World League Kickoff Classic took place 4 days ago and gathered an audience of more than one million people in its rebroadcast, now adding up to 600 thousand views in delayed mode:

All this only goes to show that Call of Duty continues to be at the forefront of its genre and, while criticism falls on it mercilessly for being repetitive and an outdated formula, sales prove the opposite, forging the purest of truths: profits determine the success of a product.

Now we just have to wait to find out what new installment of this saga will be released in 2022, as they always incorporate a new title per year.
